• A technology that captures more 3D data with each image
  Our “coded structured light” technology can generate a complete 3D data frame from each captured image. By contrast, most scanners using “sequential structured light” need to capture multiple consecutive images to generate a single complete 3D data frame.

This is an important factor to consider when comparing frame rates. Frame rate, expressed in FPS (frames per second), refers to the number of images captured per second. The PANDA Smart offers four modes:

• • • 15 FPS: ideal for beginners and helps limit the number of images captured and the resulting data volume.
    • 18 FPS: suitable for everyday use.
    • 24 FPS: recommended for experienced users who want fast and smooth scanning.
    • 30 FPS: for even faster and smoother scanning.

With the PANDA Smart, each captured image generates a 3D data frame. For example, if a 120 FPS scanner requires 5 images to generate a single 3D frame, its actual 3D data generation rate is 120 ÷ 5 = 24 3D frames per second. In this configuration, the PANDA Smart’s 24 FPS can therefore be considered comparable to 120 FPS in terms of 3D data generation rate.
